House Portraits
I have always been interested in buildings and architecture and, over the years have found a way to combine my passion in portraying these subjects through my House Portrait paintings.
My watercolour portraits are all about depicting a unique record of people's homes and capturing the character and detail of each, often including portrayal of owners' children, pets etc. The light is always an important consideration, so I pick a good time of day that will enhance the subject with interesting shadows. It all helps to create a enhanced mood and atmosphere to the finished painting.
I have completed many assignments - both private and for establishments - in the UK and abroad. Commissions have included:
Westminster Abbey (Choir School) - as presented to the Headmaster
Wellington College - a painting of Benson house for the retiring House Master
An invitation to the Cote D'Azure to record a Swedish Count's home in a series of paintings

Dear Mark, I am interested in a portrait of my house, possibly with my daughter in school uniform as in some of your pictures on your website. I have a semi detached Victorian house in Teddington, between Twickenham and Kingston. Is this something you are able to do and if so, approximately what is the cost?
Many thanks.
